Who Is DTUK? And What Do We Do?

DTUK®, or to give us our full name of Diesel Tuning UK LTD, was formed in 2005 by our Managing Director, Andrew Pawley. He saw a gap in the market for a no nonsense approach to diesel tuning and offer the UK consumers one of the best diesel tuning systems on the market without the premium price tag. This all came about after he purchased a 3.0V6 CDTI Vauxhall Vectra 177PS during 2004, after trying tuning boxes from other companies without any success, and seeing that most "manufacturers" claiming to make boxes in the UK were basically buying boxes from anywhere and passing them off as their own..

One thing we don't claim is to make the hardware, (the actual tuning boxes), we're supplied by and work closely with one of Germany's longest established Diesel Tuning Box manufacturers, and over the last 4/5 years have been involved in the development of various applications. In fact the majority of the software we use here at DTUK in unique to ourselves which has been developed in house by Andrew himself.

We've recently just moved into our new 1,000 sqft premises, which is a 1,000 times improvement from our humble beginnings. We're open 6 days a week, so if you're in the area then please pop in for a coffee or a chat, or both.. We charge for neither.

Working alongside Andrew is his "other half" Jen, shes recently joined the company in 2008 and looks after a lot of the admin side of the business, as well as actively being involved in our various development programmes. These currently involve our recently purchased Seat Leon 2.0 TDI 170PS CR which uses the new VAG/AUDI Common Rail engine which we have been using to develop software for the new DTUK® CRD-T® specifially for the UK market. Until recently she was driving a 300bhp Astra VXR but since becoming involved in the Seats development, we're hard pushed to prise the keys out of her hand.

The Astra Van was sold in 2008 and made way for a Nissan Navara that we used to develop softwate for the new DTUK® PDI system that connects to all 4 injectors. This was rolling roaded and produced a whopping 215bhp!!!!!

The majority of diesel tuning box manufacturers/resellers continue to tune the Navara/Pathfinders via the common rail. We continue to use this method on the majority of cars/vans etc, apart from the majority of Japanese 4X4's. If you read the Navara forums, you will read that several members have experienced problems with EML lights when using a common rail system, since we introduced the PDI system that connects to the 4 injectors, this problem has been eradicated... NO MORE LIGHTS, LESS PHONE CALLS AND EMAILS means less headaches for us ..


In 2009 our 2 most recent projects landed, these are a new Seat Leon 2.0TDI 170PS that uses VAG's latest 2.0 Common Rail Engine that produces 170PS as standard, and an Alpine White BMW E91 335d with 286PS as standard and 580nm of torque.

We chose these 2 vehicles as Seat has a growing army of fans, and has had some recent success in the BTCC, plus the fact it gave us access to the new VAG 2.0 Common Rail engine. The BMW belongs to Andrew and both vehicles have been used to develop the new DTUK® CRD-T 2 Channel Common Rail and Turbo Boost System. This system has just been released and is the next stage where tuning boxes are concerned, as weve seen even bigger power gains on both cars. We're hoping to rolling road them both in early 2010 using both the GREEN CRD2 and CRD-T to try and show the differences between the 3 systems.


So what do we have planned for 2010? Well we've just launched our new website, and introduced several updated systems, including 2 Brand new systems.
