Why does this work so well on my Vauxhall?
The DTUK Diesel Tuning System works well on all fuel injected diesel vehicles, but through our enthusiasm for the Vauxhall range we have spent even more time and attention tuning Vauxhall Astras and others.
The principle of the Tuning box is that once plugged into the wiring loom of the car, it intercepts the signal from the engine sensors to the fuel injection to the system, and refines the amount of fuel to be injected into the engine to the optimum levels. Once your engine has exactly the right amount of fuel it burns more efficiently, meaning that the power, the fuel consumption, throttle response, smoothness ALL improve. It is simply a better optimised engine.
The manufacturers could do this themselves but they don't, and theories as to why include keeping the car's performance within the strict emissions and tax bands in different regulatory areas, primarily for the company controlled driver. Some also say they keep the performance of their diesels down on purpose (in some cases) in order to maintain a market for their petrol models now that the modern injected diesel car performs so well.
Easy fitment of DTUK Tuning Systems
The boxes are very easy to fit yourself, and in most cases this can be achieved with few tools and in 10 minutes or so. The tuning box clips right into the standard Vauxhall Wiring loom in your Astra, Corsa, or whatever. Fitting the Tuning box is the ideal easy DIY project, coming with simple and clear instructions. And of course we are always on the end of the phone to help if you get stuck.
Improved Power, Torque and Performance.
Here you can see the power curve for the Astra Sport Hatch 1.9 CDti, noticing that the power curve is touching 206bhp at 4054 Rpm, while the maximum torque is a hefty 319lbft at 3066 RPM.
