Toyota GR Yaris Tuning – DTUK Development & Proven Results

The Toyota GR Yaris is one of the most important performance applications in the DTUK range.

We began developing our GR Yaris tuning solution in December 2020, shortly after the GR Yaris was launched. Our technical partners at DTE Systems developed a dedicated plug & play tuning system for the 1.6-litre three-cylinder turbocharged engine, and DTUK was offering the system through our website shortly afterwards.

The original Toyota specification was 261PS and 360Nm. During our development testing, the standard vehicle used for development produced 279PS and 354Nm on the rolling road. With the DTUK tuning box installed, the same vehicle produced 309.6PS and 398Nm.

That represented a measured gain of approximately 30PS and 54Nm on the development vehicle.

We also have customer testing and feedback from multiple GR Yaris vehicles, including cars using the DTUK system alongside other modifications.

GR Yaris Stage 2 & Racing Edition

DTUK also offers more advanced performance options for compatible GR Yaris applications, including Stage 2 and DTE Systems Racing Edition solutions where the required supporting hardware is fitted.

Our current GR Yaris applications include the original 261PS model, the 272PS Australia/New Zealand version and the later 280PS second-generation GR Yaris, together with Stage 2 and Racing Edition applications where available.

The Racing Edition development has produced figures of approximately 321PS and 445Nm on the relevant 261PS application.

Toyota Hilux Tuning – More Torque for Work & Towing

The Toyota Hilux is another important DTUK application, particularly for owners looking for additional torque for towing, carrying loads and everyday driving.

Our tuning applications cover a wide range of Hilux generations and engines, from earlier D-4D models through to the latest 2.8-litre diesel applications.

For example, the current Hilux 2.8 D-4D 4WD application starts at 204PS and 500Nm, with the DTUK FSR+ application showing approximately 245PS and 575Nm.

The additional torque can make a noticeable difference when towing, climbing gradients or carrying heavy loads, while the aim remains to retain smooth and predictable drivability.

Toyota RAV4 Tuning

The Toyota RAV4 has been available with a wide range of petrol, diesel and hybrid powertrains over several generations.

DTUK has tuning applications for selected RAV4 engines, including diesel applications where additional power and torque can provide a useful improvement in everyday drivability.

For example, the RAV4 IV 2.0 D-4D 143PS application has a listed DTUK output of approximately 190PS and 420Nm.

Toyota GR86 & Supra Performance

Toyota’s performance range extends beyond the GR Yaris, with models such as the GR86 and Supra also represented within the DTUK vehicle database.

Where a compatible tuning application is available, our vehicle-specific systems are designed around the individual engine and sensor configuration rather than using one generic setting across different models.

Toyota Land Cruiser & 4×4 Tuning

DTUK has a long history of tuning Toyota’s larger diesel-powered 4x4s, including the Land Cruiser.

Older applications include the Land Cruiser 4.2 and 4.5 D-4D, with the database covering several generations and engine configurations.

For example, the Land Cruiser 200 4.5 D-4D 220PS application has a listed DTUK output of approximately 265PS and 520Nm.

Additional torque can be particularly useful in larger 4x4s used for towing, off-road driving or carrying heavy loads.

Toyota Yaris, Corolla, C-HR & Other Models

Our Toyota range extends across many generations and vehicle types, including Yaris, Corolla, C-HR, Camry, Auris, Avensis, Prius, RAV4, Hilux, Land Cruiser, GR86, Supra and more.

Applications vary considerably between generations and engine types. Some Toyota models use petrol or diesel engines, while others use hybrid powertrains where the available DTUK product may differ.
