Pure electric Volkswagen models such as the ID.3, ID.4, ID.5, ID.7 and ID. Buzz do not use a conventional petrol or diesel engine, so DTUK does not offer an engine tuning box for these vehicles in the same way as a TDI or TSI model.

However, compatible Volkswagen electric vehicles can use PedalBox EV to alter accelerator response.

On the current DTUK website, compatible electric applications may be shown with PedalBox Pro as the selectable product. For an EV application, the product supplied is the dedicated PedalBox EV version.

PedalBox EV does not increase the electric motor’s maximum power output. Its purpose is to change how the vehicle responds to accelerator input and provide selectable driving-response modes.

The original Volkswagen ECU remains responsible for the vehicle’s engine-management strategy. The DTUK tuning module works externally with the relevant sensor signals rather than replacing the original ECU calibration.
